OBC donated winter goods to ‘Comprehensive Support Center for the Elderly Living Alone’

OBC donated packs of winter goods that is worth around KRW 16 million to ‘Comprehensive Support Center for the Elderly Living Alone,’ at the end of 2020. Donation was held to help elders who collect recyclable materials for living despite the cold weather conditions.

Due to COVID-19, the donation ceremony was held virtually by taking photographs individually during a virtual meeting. A pack of winter goods includes: an electric heated blanket, neck warmer, earmuffs, bed socks, and etc. This will be distributed to 350 senior citizens. An OBC official stated, “We are donating winter goods to senior citizens who make living by collecting recyclable materials, and we hope this donation can help them stay warm this winter.”

In July of 2020, OBC also delivered a donation of KRW 10 million, raised by ‘Can Crush Challenge’ campaign to ‘Cclim,’ a social venture. The donation was used to provide lightweight carts, weighing 30 kilograms less than ordinary carts to ease elders’ physical burden. In addition, OBC supported economic independence of the elderly by attaching OBC’s CSR advertisements on their carts which generated extra income for them every month.
