In celebration of 2021 Earth Day, OBC held ‘Cass Barley Saved Grain Food Upcycling Class’

Release date:April 22, 2021

In celebration of 2021 Earth Day(April 22nd) OBC held ‘Cass Barley Saved Grain Food Upcycling Class’ with OBC employees. This year’s Earth Day theme is ‘Earth Restoration’ and BSG Food Upcycling is a great exemplification of it.

OBC is committed to building a better world for everyone. By upcycling our saved grains, we are transforming one of our biggest co-products into better-tasting, and more nutritious options to consumers who seek a healthier and more sustainable future. We have known for some time the level of nutritional value our barley holds, and in our journey, we found the right partner (RE:harvest) to pursue this innovative and circular approach towards upcycling. Our goal is to offer a scalable & reliable solution for Korea’s food industry and to help address the world’s food security & sustainability challenges. Ultimately, this will also have a positive impact on social and environmental challenges like the goal of affordable, sustainable nutrition for the undernourished.

An OBC official stated, “In celebration of 2021 Earth Day, our employees had the chance to experience food upcycling that gives environmental and social value to brewery co-products,” adding, “We at OBC will actively work to formulate sustainable business models addressing environmental and social problems, putting our core vision of an ‘OB Better World’ into practice."
